Spy-Bot - Search & Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer. Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications do not yet cover. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you didn't intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. But even if you don't see anything, you may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging that is silently tracking your surfing behavior to create a marketing profile of you that will be sold to advertisement companies. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm in trying to see if something snooped into your computer.
Malwarebytes Anti Malware Program - This is gotten not only me but MANY clients out of a real bind. This has removed some of the nastiest spyware/malware infiltrations that I have seen in many years. It is a FREE program and works like a treat.
Vista Print is a great place to get cheap, great quality business cards. You can even test them with 250 business cards - FREE. That's right, that is how I tested them. They do all my stationery. Magnets, notes pads, business cards, calendars etc...
DVD Shrink is software to backup DVD discs. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disc.
DVD Shrink will also burn your backup DVD, if you have installed the latest version of Nero.
If/when you get a virus/trojan into your computer, most of them are smart enough to look at your anti-virus program and rename themselves to something that is NOT in your list, therefore making it very hard to find.
A simple FREE online scanning is the way to go. It will find, and if possible clean and remove anything that you have floating around. It's a great tool that we swear by. If you like the product, please don't hesitate in contacting DESC Computers for a purchased copy of ESET AntiVirus
DVD Profiler is a great program for compiling all your DVD's that you have in your collection. It tells you all about the movie, who is in it, who directed it etc. They have a free registration which enable you to downloaded the latest covers of movies. I wouldn't use any other profiler software.
Active Desktop Calendar is a great program to keep track of all your birthdays, anniversary's and of course appointments. Its free and easy to use.
If you don't like the bulk of Windows Media Player, here is an alternative. Winamp Player is small, great quality of sound and runs in the background whilst working with other programs without interfering.
